Is this locker really formaldehyde-free? Yes. ABS plastic is inherently non-toxic — no glues, no binders, no chemical off-gassing. Unlike particle board or MDF cabinets that need weeks to air out, ours are safe to use straight out of the box.
Are the doors too heavy for young children? An ABS door weighs about a third of a metal door. A first-grader can open and close it easily. It closes with a gentle push — no risk of pinched fingers.
Can kids sit on top of these lockers? The unit is structurally strong enough. But we don’t recommend it — not because the locker can’t handle it, but because tipping is a safety risk regardless of the locker material.
Will the colors fade over time? The color is molded into the plastic — it’s not painted on. Under normal classroom conditions, it won’t peel, chip, or fade. If you want to change colors after a couple of years, just swap the doors. No need to replace the whole cabinet.
